East Central Workforce Investment Area

The East Central Workforce Investment Area is comprised of three full-service One Stops, two satellite offices, and one access site.  The Local Elected Officials (LEOs) along with the ECWIB met several years ago to establish the site locations.

The Board’s One Stop Operator continually checks the status of the One Stops and assists the Centers when needed. One full service center is located in Seminole in the business district of that city. Gordon Cooper Technology Center, which is a partner in the Workforce Oklahoma System providing training and career exploration, also houses one of the full service centers, south of Interstate 40, on Harrison in Shawnee.  The Holdenville center, which is strategically placed in the county seat of Hughes County, provides optimum coverage and services to the southern most part of the five-county area.

All full-service centers are professionally staffed, monitored, and Board approved to ensure the highest quality of services. Okemah and Chandler house both of the satellite offices for the ECWIA.  Both offices are staffed by WIA personnel and function as ES and WIA offices.  Each contains computer access for job searching, resume building, and, more importantly, establishes the point of contact for employment in those respective areas.
